Only in 2019 in the US, more than 118,000 large trucks were involved in crashes resulting in an injury. This worrying data led to a trend of rising insurance rates in 2021 and 2022.
To address this issue, technology is key. That's why Movingdots, Swiss Re's tech subsidiary in the automotive & mobility space, is partnering with Overhaul(US supply chain monitoring service provider) to enhance data monitoring and lower insurance costs for motor carriers. More specifically:
-Overhaul’s TruckShield platform will work with Movingdots’ telematics solution Coloride to enhance data gathering and machine learning techniques
-They will empower carriers to detect and correct risky driver behavioural events, while achieving on-time shipments and lower costs for insurers
-By combining their advanced knowledge, Movingdots and Overhaul aim to increase fleet safety and innovation
